By request here is the recipe:

4 T margarine or butter
3/4 c. sugar
2 eggs
2t. grated lemon peel (if you don't have peel throw in some lemon juice.)

2 c. flour
2 1/2 t baking powder
1 t. salt

3/4 c. milk

1/2 c chopped nuts
(We also threw in a small can of poppy seeds filling.)

GLAZE:
Combine:
2 t. lemon juice (you might want to cut back)
2T sugar

DIRECTIONS:
Beat marg. and sugar til fluffy. Add eggs and lemon peel and blend together.
Mix together the flour, baking powder and salt. Add it to the creamed mixture alternating with the milk.

Add nuts and whatever else you decide to stir in. Fruit Preserves are also good in the bread.

Pour into a greased large bread pan and bake for 50 min at 350 degrees or until a tooth pick comes out clean.

Cool 10 min. Remove from pan.
Spoon glaze on the bread immediately.

Cool and EAT!

This is a good basic recipe for all sorts of combinations.
