Eighty For Those Who Are Strong

Today we had the privilege of having our retired regional bishop, Bishop Dominic Marconi, come to offer Mass for us and then join us for a chat in the community room. Bishop Marconi, although retired, is very active in the diocese helping out with Confirmations and was not able to be with us on Saturday and so today's visit was our "consolation prize".

Bishop Marconi is a wonderful storyteller and loves to share with us about his ministry, his family and books he is reading. We have gotten to know all about his brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews and now his great-nieces and nephews! Alex, if you are reading this, we're praying that you have a vocation to the priesthood!

This year Bishop Marconi is celebrating his 80th birthday! We serenaded him with a Buon compleanno! and our traditional "God grant him many years" and presented him with a small gift—another book to read!
