CELEBRATION WITH SURPRISES: Giving the Fruits of Contemplation!
What happens when you have a Holy Hour every month to celebrate your 800th anniversary and invite people from all walks of life to participate?
Celebration With Surprises is the story of just what happened at the Monastery of the Mother of God, West Springfield, Massachusetts. It was year of surprising graces, surprising encounters and surprising joys!
Each month the nuns would have a different theme for their Rosary Holy Hour. One month it would be Communications, another month Medical Personnal, Military, etc. Sr. Mary of the Sacred Heart would get on the phone and invite people from these different professions and ask them to lead the Rosary and meet the nuns and the people who participated. In short, it was an amazing year of grace!
Weaving this story with the story of the history of the Nuns of the Order of Preachers, Sr. Mary of the Sacred Heart has produced a fascinating book. Even if you don’t know all the people mentioned it doesn’t matter. It is a story that warms your heart and shows to you the work of God’s grace in the most ordinary and extraordinary circumstances!
The book features vocation reflections and photos from several other monasteries including our own.
Recently, Sr. Mary of the Sacred Heart spent a much needed retreat with us and shared with us the news that her book would be featured on Reel to Reel and today we got the news that the segment was finally up on YouTube.
