Thanksgiving

For a Catholic everyday is Thanksgiving because everyday the Holy Eucharist—a word that means thanksgiving—is renewed each day on the Altar and once again heaven and earth become one.

However the holiday of Thanksgiving is one the Sisters look forward to. Just like "at home" it is family day for us here at our monastery home. We enjoy talking at meals, eating a leisurely breakfast in the community room and getting our Thanksgiving dinner prepared.

Thanksgiving for us, like for all Americans, is a day when we remember each and every one of you in a particular way in our prayer, "giving thanks to the Father of mercies" for making our life possible, supporting us by your prayer and sacrifice and so often doing that extra special thing for us.

May the Lord bless you and your family with every good thing, spiritual and material!

Happy Thanksgiving!
