MABUHAY! Sr. Mary Magdalene!

Our Sr. Mary Magdalene from our monastery in Cainta, Rizal, Philippines, arrived on Monday. Sister will spend 6 months with us. During this time she will attend the annual Dominican Nuns Novice Mistress meeting in Washington, DC with our Sr. Mary Catharine.

Sr. Mary Magdalene will be a welcome addition to our community. She has a lovely singing voice and is a graceful dancer of Filipino folk dances. We're looking forward to learning a few of them especially Tinikling! Tinikling is a folk dance that uses bamboo sticks. Many years ago before the foundation in the Philipines the sisters learned how to dance Tinikling and the bamboo sticks are still down in the store room. It's time to dust them off!
