This collection of articles, essays, and poems, represents a small selection from the annual journal, Dominican Monastic Search, begun in 1980 by the Conference of U.S. Dominican Nuns. The studies in the book are diverse, and range from Scripture, prayer, theology, the Nuns' Constitutions, work,, and community to authority, freedom, history, and art, All are reflections upon contemplative life in its ascetic, mystical, and communitarian dimensions by different Dominican Nuns, "rooted in the shared soil of Dominican monastic life." Contributors include Summit nuns Sr. Mary Martin Jacobs, Sr. Denise Marie Atkins, Sr. Mary Rose Dominic Lynch, and Sr. Maria Agnes Karasig.
