The Gift of a New Priest!

This afternoon we had the joy of a visit from newly ordained Fr. Ksiadz Maciej Zajac. Father Zajac was ordained yesterday at Sacred Heart Basilica by our Archbishop John J. Myers along with 12 other deacons. His whole family came over from Poland to share this in this beautiful day. Here in the pictures you can see a few of his sisters and brothers. We never did get a whole photo of the family!
Fr. Zajac has been serving in our parish of St. Teresa of Avila here in Summit as a transitional deacon and much to the joy of everyone has been assigned to the parish. He offered his First Mass of Thanksgiving today and the pastor, Msgr. Harahan surprised him by giving part of his homily in Polish. In response, Fr. Zajac said that it was proof that the Holy Spirit was active among them as Msgr. was able to learn some Polish!
When Father returns from Poland he promises to come and offer a Mass of the Thanksgiving for us. Our Sisters of Polish ancestry are thrilled to have this wonderful new priest with us and the rest of us non-Poles are happy, too!
Please pray for Fr. Zajac and for his fellow newly ordained priests!
