Holy Thursday, 2008

Below is a small video with scenes from the ceremony of the Washing of the Feet which takes place in the Chapter Hall before Mass and the reading of the Lord's Sermon. This is a Dominican custom and is done in different ways depending on the community. We do it in place of Compline with each sister reading a section.

The music is of the Pange Lingua (sung in English) from the procession after Mass before the Blessed Sacrament is placed in the Altar of Repose. There are organ interludes between the verses but these were edited out because of length.

We wish the photos were of better quality but we know you understand!

We hope that this short video will provide a moment of meditation on the gifts of Holy Thursday--that of Jesus' example of how we are to love one another and His total gift of Himself in the Holy Eucharist.
