Good News Department: The Pearl of York to be shown at the Boston International Film Festival
Congratulations to our friends, the Slaves of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, St. Benedict Center, whose FIRST movie, The Pearl of York, was selected as one of 100 films (out of 2,500) to be shown at the International Boston Film Festival on April 19, 2009 at the Lowell Theatere on Tremont St., Boston, at 11 AM.
The Pearl of York was directed by Sr. Mary Elizabeth, MICM and stars Erin McFarland as St. Margaret Clitherow. (Erin's husband plays St. Margaret's husband.)
The film also received a Merit award from the Indie Festival.
A bit of trivia: Ben Urban who plays the judge was a student in Sr. Mary Catharine's first grade reading class. (Before she entered the monastery, of course.) Jane McQuire, who plays St. Margaret's daughter is the great niece of our former, deceased chaplain, Fr. Vincent Reilly.
Now, maybe we can get them to do a movie on St. Dominic!
