50th Anniversary of Profession of Sr. Mary Elizabeth of St. Jopseh, OP
Saturday, May 8th, was a beautiful day to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of Profession of Sr. Mary Elizabeth of St. Joseph! Sister had over 75 family and friends rejoice with her in the many graces God has lavished on her in her more than 50 years of monastic life.
Our regional bishop, Bishop Manuel Cruz was the principal celebrant and homilist. You can hear the homily by clicking on the link below. While the homily was preached in the pulpit out in the guest chapel, Bishop Cruz, in his beautiful and thoughtful way, came around the altar to the grille afterward to preach another homily to Sister Mary Elizabeth personally. It was a touching moment for each of us, but especially for Sr. Mary Elizabeth!

Afterward, Sister greeted all our guests in the newly renovated St. Dominic's Hall where a fabulous feast was prepared. Gold roses were placed on the tables and were also in the chapel and choir. The novitiate sisters made colorful soap party favors for each guest and these decorated the tables. We enjoyed the leftovers at supper that evening!
