I THANK GOD EVERY TIME I THINK OF YOU!
Sister Maria Teresa's profession was so beautiful in every way! Because of the large number of guests—over eighty!—the Profession ceremony was held in the extern chapel. Usually only the Solemn Profession ceremony is held in the extern chapel. The Sisters could see from the grille but the photos don't show very much so we are waiting for photos from Mom Franko and just about everybody!
This evening we were delighted to recreate in the parlor with 2 very special guests, Corey and Katherine Huber, founders of the Mater Ecclesiae Fund for Vocations. WITHOUT their generous help and the generous help of other donors this beautiful day of Sr. Maria Teresa's dedication to Christ would NOT have been possible!
Both Sr. Mary Magdalen and Sr. Maria Teresa are grantee's of the Mater Ecclesiae Fund. This Fund makes it possible for men and women to follow their vocation to the priesthood and religious life by taking on the person's college debt. Minimum monthly payments are made and by 5 years after Final or Solemn Profession it is paid off entirely. It is a rigorous application process. Every year they receive more and more applications. This year they received 33! However, due to the lack of funds the number of grants they are able to make is VERY SMALL!
So, here's the pitch! Just think, you can personally be a part of fostering a young person's vocation by making a contribution to the Foundation. The rewards are eternal because you will have someone praying for you in gratitude for making his or her vocation possible!
Do check out the Foundations website and consider making a contribution to the future of religious life here in the USA and Canada so that there will be many more like Sr. Maria Teresa saying, "I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy..." (Phil 1:3)
