Fr. Dominic Izzo, O.P., a Rhode Island native, graduated Magna Cum Laude from Providence College in 1988, after which he became a novice of The Dominican Friars Province of St. Joseph. He studied theology at the Pontifical Faculty of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C.. Fr. Dominic spent about 7 years in Eastern Africa, where among other things, he served on the Executive Committee of the Board of Governors at Tangaza College, as well as Community Superior at the St. Dominic House in Kenya. Eventually, he became the Vicar Provincial there. In 2002, Fr. Dominic became the Prior Provincial of the Province of St. Joseph, as well as Chairman of the Corporation of Providence College.

After having served as Prior Provincial of the Province of St. Joseph for two terms, Fr. Dominic Izzo was recently named Director of the Dominican Foundation by the 2010 Provincial Chapter. Fr. Dominic will continue in this duty as he serves as a parochial vicar in residence here at the Church of St. Joseph.

Fr. Dominic is also the beloved Friar Consultant of the Association of the Nuns of the Order of Preachers of the USA. Without him we nuns wouldn't get very far! He is a true brother! He gives us room to do things our way (round in circles) and then comes in after listening to us for awhile and brings it all together into some sort of order!
