Video Message of Benedict XVI for the 400th Anniversary of the University of Santo Tomas, Manila, Philippines

This past week the University of Santo Tomas in the Philippines celebrated her 400th anniversary of foundation.

UST is the oldest institution of higher education in Asia and continues to flourish to this day. Our Sr. Maria Agnes attended the University and was baptized in the university chapel. We have close ties with many Dominicans associated with the University because of our Filipina Sisters and our founding the Monastery of Our Lady of the Rosary in Cainta, Antipolo in 1977.

UST is a pontifical university and because of her importance and because of the significance of this anniversary the Holy Father sent a video message and blessing.

Congratulations to the University of Santo Tomas! Ad multos annos!
