Come, Holy Spirit!

During these days leading up to the great Solemnity of Pentecost we are in a time of retreat. This year we have the privilege of having Fr. Andrew Hofer, OP give us 3 days of retreat talks.

We have known Fr. Andrew since his first years as a Dominican. Fr. Andrew was ordained to the priesthood in 2002 and we last had a visit from his on the occasion of the feast of St. Catherine of Alexandria, when her feast was reinserted into the liturgical calendar that year. Fr. Andrew, known for his beautiful liturgical hymns, has written two for the feast of St. Catherine as a gift to our monastery. We're even mentioned in one of the verses!

Since Fr. Andrew's last visit he has been a missionary in Kenya, East Africa, obtained his STL, STD and Phd  and now resides at the Dominican House of Studies in Washington, DC, where he is assistant Student Master and Instructor.

However, Fr. Andrew is proud of his Kansas-farm roots and Sr. Mary Magdalene, also from Kansas has been looking forward to his coming!

During these days of prayer we pray for all of you and especially pray that the Holy Spirit will renew each of us in His Love and that we will be on fire for God and for His will in our lives! Come, Holy Spirit!
