Death of Fr Guy-Thomas Bedouelle, OP

We rarely post about the death of one of our Brothers or Sisters in St. Dominic but we must mention the going home to God of our brother, Fr. Guy-Thomas Bedouelle. Fr. Bedouelle was a well-respected theologian and historian. His work on St. Dominic: Saint Dominic: the Grace of the Word is an amazing work and well-loved by so many Dominicans. In fact, it was instrumental in Sr. Mary Catharine's vocation discernment.

In the early 90's he gave the annual retreat to the Friars at the Dominican House of Studies in Washington, DC.which became a book: In the Image of Saint Dominic: Nine Portraits of Dominican Life. Both books were translated by the now deceased Sr. Mary Thomas Noble, OP of the Dominican monastery in Buffalo, NY.

Fortunately, several years, Ignatius Press decided to reprint Saint Dominic: the Grace of the Word and we are happy to carry this wonderful book in our bookstore.

We are grateful to God for the life and contribution of Fr. Guy-Thomas and we pray that he may soon be rejoicing in the beauty of the Face of God in the company of our Lady and all our Dominican brothers and sisters!
