Archbishop Fulton Sheen made Venerable

Great news today that Archbishop Fulton Sheen is now Venerable Fulton Sheen!While many people remember him from his television program here is another, most delightful side of him!

Do you think they will show this at the canonization?

Many people attribute the saying, "Hearing nuns' confessions is like being stoned to death by popcorn" to Ven. Sheen. However, Fr. Vincent McNabb, OP, (1868-1943) the eccentric "Saint of Hyde Park" once said "hearing confessions is like being pecked to death by ducks." The quotes are so similar that one can only surmise that if Ven. Sheen did say it, he must have read the book about Fr. Vincent McNabb! Incidentally, we nuns really hate that quote! Trust me, we NEED to go to confession! We're sinners, too! We just have a slightly different catalog!
