San Nicola and the Dominicans

Happy Feast of St. Nicholas! St. Nicholas' feast day is a humble "optional memorial" on the calendar and although it remains a day of fast and abstinence for us it is still a special feast...especially for the novitiate! We had scrumptious bean chili with a bowl of tortillas "in honor of St. Nicholas"! Did you know that the Basilica of St. Nicholas in Bari, Italy is in the care of the Dominicans? We didn't know this either until Fr. Gregory mentioned it in his homily. Now, it's not that we don't believe him but we did want to see it for ourselves and found a great website with photos and information (also in English). We doubt any of us will go to Bari so through the internet Bari can come to us!

The soap department was quite busy today which made it fun. To be honest we sometimes amaze ourselves at how efficient we've become with each passing year!

A few people have called us saying there are problems with the site. We're looking into this.
