Meet our New Novice Mistress
Meet our new Novice Mistress, Sister Mary Magdalene of the Immaculate Conception, OP!
Sister Mary Magdalene grew up in Overland Park, Kansas. She studied at Pittsburg State University, taught one year of Totus Tuus summer camp for the Diocese of Wichita, and worked at Applebee’s before entering the monastery on March 18, 2009. Sister made her First Profession on December 8, 2011, the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception. She made her Solemn Profession on January 1, 2015, Mary, the Mother of God.
Sister enjoys Rosary-making and woodworking as hobbies. She built beautiful wood bed frames from trees from our property for the guest rooms in our new wing. Occasionally, she plays the left-handed guitar and enjoys a competitive game of baseball or kickball at recreation on a nice day!
Sr. Mary Magdalene looks forward to talking to you about your vocation, and the wonderful gift a contemplative vocation is!
