Moving!
That's right, we're moving! ...or rather our gift shop is! Due to impending (God willing!) construction, the volunteer's office and gift shop in the vestibule will soon be closed. This necessitated finding a temporary home for both. The main entrance to the Chapel and the Chapel itself will not be affected by construction and will remain open.
We have a small area at the base of the Morris Ave. stairs in our basement, right before you pass into the hallway of the guestrooms, rosary parlor, and lecture hall. This will be the new home for our temporary gift shop. BUT the whole gift shop is getting something of a face-lift when it comes to what is offered. We're really excited that we will be able to offer an expanded selection of Catholic goods....and be able to accept credit cards! Unfortunately, unlike our previous set-up, the gift shop will only be open during certain hours (usually around 9:30/10 -3:30/4 Monday-Saturday and 12:30-3:30/4 on Sundays) when our volunteers are available.
On Tuesday evening the community came together during recreation to move the current stock of the vestibule gift shop down to the new temporary home. It was quite an undertaking! Who knew we had so much stuff out there for sale?!
The "new" temporary gift shop and volunteer's office will open sometime in November. The only way to access this part of the building will be to exit the chapel, go around towards Morris Ave and enter through the double doors. Don't worry, there will be signs!
