Ice and snow, bless the Lord!

Some pictures of a recent snowfall. The book of Sirach has a chapter meditating on the awe and beauty of God’s creation as a reflection of God himself. “He scatters the snow like birds flying down, and its descent is like locusts alighting. The eye marvels at the beauty of its whiteness, and the mind is amazed at its falling.”

Sirach concludes by saying, “Though we speak much we cannot reach the end, and the sum of our words is, “He is the all.” Where shall we find strength to praise him? For he is greater than all his works… For the Lord has made all things, and to the godly he has granted wisdom.” (Sirach 43)
