A Priest Forever!

One of the highlights of the summer is the slow procession of newly ordained friars coming to offer a Mass of Thanksgiving for us. Yesterday, Fr. Dominic Legge, OP, offered Mass for us and after, gave us his first priestly blessing. Unfortunately, the parlor visit after breakfast was all too short has Father Dominic is stationed at St. Catherine's in NY this summer. He is one of the friars who covers Sloan Kettering and other hospitals in the area. This is the traditional summer assignment for one of the newly ordained and although the experience is grueling it is one they never forget and an experience for which they are forever grateful as they see the power Christ has given them to be His alter Christus.

We are grateful for our new priests and look forward to the others coming in the next few months. To see our brothers go from new, awkward novices to newly professed, then solemnly professed, then preaching as deacons and then finally as ordained priests and sometimes even bishop is a privilege indeed.

Please pray for Fr. Dominic Legge and for our newly ordained priests! They count on our prayers!

The novitiate waits at the end of the line while Sr. Judith Miryam receives a blessing.

Brothers and Sisters love to talk! The view from the visitors' parlor.
