Special visit

Yesterday we had a special visit from Co-adjutor Archbishop Bernard Hebda! His Excellency was installed as Co-adjutor Archbishop of the Newark Archdiocese on November 5th. Our two externs were blessed to attend the installation at the Sacred Heart Basilica. Shortly thereafter we invited Archbishop Hebda to visit us at the Monastery and were delighted when he accepted our invitation.

His Excellency celebrated Holy Mass for us and afterwards we retired to the Community Room for a short visit. Archbishop Hebda spoke fondly of the contemplative communities in his previous diocese and expressed his delight at having a contemplative community in his new diocese. He assured us of his support and we assured him of our prayers!

After our visit His Excellency prayed the office of Sext with us in Choir before joining our chaplain (who happens to be a friend of his) for dinner.
