Busy in the Bakery

On Saturday our bakery saw a flurry of activity. (And thankfully that was the only kind of flurry that's been happening around here!) You may remember that the bakery was our Soap Department's first home. The bakery, which never lost its name, has since reverted back to its former occupation of producing baked goods for the community. Saturday saw six nuns squeezed into the little room! Dough for oatmeal bread rises on the counter.

Hot Cross Buns are ready for the oven!

Inspecting the dough rising process.

In the midst of the baking activity we received a large donation of, among other things, huge containers of pasta sauce! These needed to be transferred into bags for freezing.

Sr. Judith Miryam, Sr. Mary Magdalene, and Sr. Mary Amata ladle sauce into freezer bags.

Meanwhile Sr. Mary Cecilia helps Sr. Mary Catharine bag the oatmeal bread.

Ready for Sunday's breakfast!
