First Annual Gala!

Thursday, November 6th, was our First Annual Gala!

The evening kicked off with Mass in our chapel celebrated by Bishop Manuel A. Cruz, Fr. Brian Plate, and Fr. John Carmichael. Over two hundred people attended the Mass where Bishop Cruz gave a wonderful homily about the importance of our life.

After Mass everyone (not the cloistered nuns!) headed over to the Grand Summit Hotel to join the rest of the Gala attendees for a night of dinner and dancing. Martha MacCallum, co-anchor for the FOX News Channel, was the event's Master of Ceremonies. The Gala honored Louis Martine (who recently passed away) as well as James R Prisco, Sr and James R Prisco, Jr, all upstanding community-minded men of integrity who are unsurpassed in their charitable works and endeavors. Andreas Widmer, author of The Pope and the CEO: John Paul II's Lessons to a Young Swiss Guard and Director of Entrepreneurship Programs at The Catholic University of America, was the event's guest speaker. We hear he did an absolutely fantastic job! Electric Peak Creative was there to present the video they created on our community. Music was provided by, and this is not a joke, The Infernos. They had everyone up and on their feet dancing in the very crowded hall!

Our two extern sisters, Sr. Mary Cecilia and Sr. Maureen attended the Gala (and had a very long night!). Stay tuned, Sr. Mary Cecilia will be sharing a little bit more about how the Gala went from a first-hand perspective.
