New Master of the Order!
Today the General Chapter of the Order of Preachers elected Fr. Gerard Francisco Timoner, O.P. as the 87th Successor of St. Dominic and the 88th Master of the Order of Preachers! Fr. Timoner is the former provincial of the Province of the Philippines. Our Sr. Maria Agnes knew Fr. Timoner from when he served as vice-chancellor of the University of Santo Tomas as well as the time she spent as Prioress at our daughter house in Cainta, Philippines. Father was one of the rotating chaplains for the monastery, and we hear he has a love for the nuns of the Order. Before being elected today, he served as socius for the Asia-Pacific region of the Order of Preachers.
