Welcome, Sisters!

On the Solemnity of the Assumption, we formally welcomed aspirant Rachel into the enclosure to begin her postulancy. Sister Rachel is originally from Ohio and, and joins Sister Natalie as the second ‘bluebird’ in the house. Please remember Sister Rachel in your prayers as she begins her journey in monastic life!

This week we also celebrated another new sister, Sister Bernadette Marie! Sister is originally from Buffalo, New York where she entered the Dominican monastery there, the same monastery which Sr. Mary Agnes is originally from. When the monastery closed, Sister transferred to our community. She has been with us for several months now, but it took a bit for the paperwork to go through to make her an official member, so we celebrated her being “officially” a Summit nun this week. Since Sr. Bernadette Marie takes care of our goldfish pond, the novitiate sisters created a “pin the fish on the pond” game which we played at recreation. Sr. Bernadette Marie is a great blessing to our community and we are so glad to have her with us!
