Welcome, Sister Erin!

Yesterday, on the eve of this feast of the Assumption, we welcomed Sister Erin into the monastery to begin her postulancy. Sister Erin came to us all the way from Washington (state), accompanied by her loving family.

After the formal entrance ceremony, we all head to the community room to greet our new sister more informally. Hugs all around is inevitably followed by the new veil slipping off. We tease the new postulants that their entrance isn’t valid unless their veil falls off at least once on their first day! After a few days, they get used to wearing it and it becomes old hat, or should we say, old veil, so to speak!

Please keep Sister Erin in your prayers as she begins her monastic life!
